In October 2010 I had the pleasure to work with Feeding the Fish to perform a pixel poi choreography at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, Delhi, India. We joined performers from all over the world to create a mesmerising laser show that was also the Gran Finale of the event.
We worked very hard, days and nights, to rehearse for the show, but the reaction of the 80,000 people in the stadium was an incredibly satisfying reward, as well as a great memory that will never die.
You can find more photos of this amazing event on my Flickr.
In September 2010 I joined Hoop La La on a trip to Manchester. We attended the Coronation Street 50th anniversary party, where we performed a custom made act to celebrate the programs heritage, and taught some cast members to hula-hoop. It was a very fun day spent hula hooping and peeping into the courtyards of the set.
Photos were taken by Jessie Walters and you can see more on my Flickr.
In September 2010 I performed a duo act with Hoop LaLa for the Cadbury’s ‘Spots V. Stripes’ campaign in Birmingham. The squares of the city centre were painted purple, with plenty of fun games and funny characters all around. While warming up backstage, I could not resist trying on this fluffy costume and turning into a hula hoop monkey.
This photoshoot was done by Bertil Nilsson at the Circus Space, London, straight after the presentation of our solo pieces in May 2010. It was very interesting to work with Bertil as he encouraged movement rather than posing, which made the shoot a lot more dynamic and fun.
